Paolo Lezzi, CEO of Memento Labs, acknowledged that Dante — the company’s Windows spyware — was exposed after a government client deployed an outdated version.
Lezzi told TechCrunch that Memento has ordered all clients to stop using Dante and plans to discontinue Windows spyware support by year-end.
He added that Memento now focuses exclusively on mobile surveillance tools and buys most of its zero-day exploits from external sources.
“We thought they didn’t even use it anymore,” Lezzi said, calling the leak “an unfortunate case of negligence.”
