OpenAI is reportedly developing a text-to-music generation tool, according to The Information.
The system would allow users to create music from text or audio prompts — for example, adding guitar accompaniment to a vocal track or background music to videos.
Sources say OpenAI is collaborating with Juilliard School students to annotate musical scores for training data.
It’s unclear whether the tool will launch as a standalone product or be integrated into ChatGPT or OpenAI’s video generator Sora.
OpenAI has not yet commented on the report.
