Instagram Rolls Out Reels Watch History Feature

Instagram has officially launched a “Watch History” feature for Reels, letting users revisit previously watched videos — a long-requested addition that finally brings Instagram in line with TikTok.

Users can find the feature under Profile → Settings → Your Activity → Watch History, where they’ll see every Reel they’ve viewed. Watch History can be sorted by date, creator, or view order, and users can remove specific Reels if desired.

Instagram head Adam Mosseri said the feature was designed for users who often lose track of a Reel mid-scroll or after closing the app. Before this update, users had to download their data to retrieve their watch history manually.

The rollout comes as Meta continues to enhance Reels with TikTok-like features, including Reel series linking and Picture-in-Picture playback.
