Microsoft Deploys Its First Massive Nvidia AI “Factory”

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella unveiled the company’s first deployed Nvidia-powered AI system, calling it the “first of many” factories to run OpenAI workloads on Azure.

Each system packs 4,600+ GB300 racks with Blackwell Ultra GPUs linked via InfiniBand, Nvidia’s high-speed networking tech. Microsoft says it will roll out hundreds of thousands of GPUs across 300+ data centers worldwide.

The move comes as OpenAI strikes billion-dollar data center deals of its own. Microsoft’s message: it already has the global scale to power the next-gen AI models with hundreds of trillions of parameters.
