Former Elder Scrolls Developers Launch Sackbird Studios

On Oct. 8, 2025, Sackbird Studios was founded by ex-Elder Scrolls Online and Project Blackbird developers, aiming for creative independence in AAA game development. The employee-owned, self-funded studio currently has fewer than 10 developers and is working on a PC and console title, with details to be revealed when the game is ready. COO David Worley said the goal is to “take smart risks without chasing quarterly targets.”
