Qualcomm announced it will acquire Arduino, the Italian open-source hardware platform with 33M active users. Financial terms weren’t disclosed, and the deal is pending regulatory approval.
Alongside the acquisition, Arduino unveiled the UNO Q, a $44 board featuring a quad-core Qualcomm CPU, real-time STM32 microcontroller, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.1.
The UNO Q also supports the Arduino App Lab, enabling Python, Arduino sketches, and lightweight AI models for hobbyists and creators.
