MrBeast Raises Alarm Over AI’s Threat to Creators

Top YouTuber MrBeast (Jimmy Donaldson) voiced fresh concerns about AI’s growing impact on the creator economy, warning that the technology could disrupt “millions of creators currently making content for a living.”

His comments follow the release of OpenAI’s Sora 2, an AI tool and app that allows users to generate and share synthetic videos in a TikTok-style feed, which has quickly topped the U.S. App Store.

While YouTube has also rolled out AI editing and animation tools, MrBeast said the rise of AI-generated content presents “scary times” for original creators.

Ironically, the creator himself has previously experimented with AI — launching a thumbnail generator earlier this year before removing it amid backlash from fans and artists.
