Starbreeze Studios confirmed during a 2nd-anniversary Twitch stream that Payday 3 will not feature an offline mode, despite strong demand from fans. The decision comes as the studio shifts the game’s direction, focusing on online functionality. Payday 2, by contrast, has a well-established offline mode with AI companions. Payday 3 currently has “Mixed” reviews on Steam and a 24-hour peak of 1,815 concurrent players—less than 10% of its predecessor. The game is on sale for $9.89 until October 6, 2025.
