September 2025 recorded $127.06 million in losses from 20 crypto-related attacks, according to PeckShield. While the total value of damages fell 22% from August’s $163 million, the number of incidents rose from 16 to 20 — showing hackers are still active but splitting attacks into smaller chunks.

Major breaches included UXLINK ($44.14M), SwissBorg ($41.5M), Venus ($13.5M, later recovered), Yala ($7.64M), and GriffAI ($3M). Across Q3 2025 alone, $432 million was stolen in 53 attacks.

The drop in total losses is misleading — more attacks mean bad actors are testing systems constantly. Splitting hacks into smaller amounts makes them harder to detect and trace.

September shows a tactical shift: lower-value, higher-frequency exploits. For investors and protocols, this means vigilance matters more than ever, even when dollar figures look “better.”
