Even Microsoft Says Don’t Fully Trust AI Tools Like Copilot
-

Microsoft has made it clear in its terms of use that its AI assistant Copilot should not be relied on for important decisions. In fact, the company explicitly states that “Copilot is for entertainment purposes only,” warning users that it can make mistakes and may not always function as expected. This disclaimer, last updated in late 2025, has sparked discussion online as Microsoft simultaneously pushes Copilot for enterprise use.
However, Microsoft isn’t alone in issuing such cautions. Other AI developers like OpenAI and xAI also emphasize that their models should not be treated as sources of absolute truth. While Microsoft has indicated that this wording may soon be updated, the broader message remains consistent across the industry: AI tools are powerful, but they are not infallible—and users should apply critical thinking when relying on their outputs.
