Apple adds agentic AI coding tools to Xcode with version 26.3

Apple is bringing agentic AI coding directly into Xcode. The company announced Xcode 26.3, which allows developers to use advanced agentic tools — including Anthropic’s Claude Agent and OpenAI’s Codex — inside Apple’s official app development environment.

The Xcode 26.3 Release Candidate is available now on Apple’s developer site, with a broader rollout to the App Store coming later. The update builds on Xcode 26’s earlier support for ChatGPT and Claude, expanding AI capabilities beyond chat into autonomous coding workflows.

With agentic access, AI models can now interact more deeply with Xcode, enabling complex automation across iOS, macOS, watchOS, and other Apple platforms.
