GSR Unveils Trio of Ethereum Staking ETFs with Offshore Strategy

GSR’s ETF ambitions go beyond treasuries. The company has also filed for three staking-related ETFs designed to bring yield strategies into regulated markets.

The proposed products include:

Ethereum Staking Opportunity ETF – investing in ETH staking products abroad.

Ethereum YieldEdge ETF – combining ETH staking with derivatives to boost yield.

Crypto StakingMax ETF – focusing on proof-of-stake cryptocurrencies and staking strategies.

Because of restrictions under the Investment Company Act of 1940, the funds will use offshore subsidiaries to handle staking and derivatives exposure. This approach mirrors workarounds used by other asset managers exploring digital assets within regulatory limits.

While direct ETH staking offers higher control, these ETFs give institutions simplified, compliant access to staking yields. Analysts caution that performance could lag decentralized staking methods due to fees and structural complexity. Still, the filing marks another step in Wall Street’s embrace of crypto-native yield models.
