EU Ministers Move Forward on Digital Euro Holding Limits

Finance ministers from European Union member states have agreed on a framework for setting holding limits for the upcoming digital euro, moving the bloc closer to launching its central bank digital currency (CBDC).
The agreement, announced during a Eurogroup press conference in Copenhagen, focuses on the procedures for establishing limits rather than the exact amounts individuals can hold. Officials also outlined next steps toward the issuance process for the digital euro.
