Tinder Bets on AI “Chemistry” to Reverse Subscriber Declines
-

After nine straight quarters of subscriber losses, Tinder is turning to AI for help. Parent company Match Group announced that Tinder is piloting a feature called Chemistry, designed to get to know users through interactive questions and by analyzing their Camera Roll photos (with permission).
The feature is already testing in New Zealand and Australia and will be a key part of Tinder’s 2026 experience, said CEO Spencer Rascoff.
However, the AI initiative comes at a cost — Match expects a $14 million revenue hit in Q4 due to ongoing product testing.
