Blockchain Network Revenues Fall 16% in September

Network revenues across the blockchain ecosystem declined 16% month-over-month in September, according to a new report from VanEck.
The drop was largely due to reduced volatility in crypto markets. Ethereum network revenue fell 6%, Solana 11%, and Tron 37%. Tron’s sharp decline followed an August governance proposal that slashed gas fees by more than 50%.
VanEck analysts said that with volatility down — Ether volatility fell 40%, Solana 16%, and Bitcoin 26% — there were fewer arbitrage opportunities compelling traders to pay higher priority fees.

A noticeable dip, but not unexpected. Market slowdowns and fewer transactions always hit network fees first.
