Victims believe they are using authentic platforms like Uniswap, while all network traffic is secretly routed through attacker-controlled infrastructure.

Security firms say many users still trust Google’s “Sponsored” section too heavily, assuming paid results are verified or safer than organic links.

Ironically, scammers often rank above the legitimate crypto projects themselves simply by paying more aggressively for ad placement.
