Ghost of Yotei Legends, the free-to-play cooperative multiplayer mode added to the game since its October 2025 launch, has received its final major planned update. Lead Designer Darren Bridges confirmed in a PlayStation Blog post that the recently released Raid mission marks the last major content addition for the Legends mode, wrapping up the story of the Yotei Six within the multiplayer experience. The Raid itself was designed as a challenging escape room style mission that actively tries to eliminate players, though Sucker Punch built in quality of life features to accommodate different audiences, including the ability to jump straight back to the boss after completing puzzles for players who run out of time or need to leave mid-session.

The announcement came as something of a surprise given how the multiplayer mode in Ghost of Tsushima was supported. That game's Legends mode received substantial post-launch content well beyond its initial release, including new maps, the Rivals game mode, and additional content tied to the Iki Island expansion and Director's Cut. Whether Sucker Punch considers smaller balance patches or maps as falling outside the definition of a major update remains unclear, and the exact scope of Bridges' comment leaves some room for interpretation. For now the studio has not ruled out smaller fixes or additions, but the language used suggests players should not expect significant new content for the multiplayer side of the game going forward.
