Payoneer and Upwork have announced an extension of their strategic partnership, marking 15 years of collaboration supporting freelancers and businesses operating across borders. Under the renewed agreement, Payoneer will continue serving as a primary wallet and Direct to Local Bank payout partner for Upwork, covering both existing and new international customers across Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East. The partnership is backed by Payoneer's reach across 190 countries and territories and its network of nearly 100 banks and payment service providers, giving Upwork freelancers access to global bank transfers, FX management, and the broader Payoneer financial infrastructure they need to grow their businesses internationally.
The renewal also signals a new phase of the relationship that goes beyond simply maintaining existing payout infrastructure.

Upwork will join Payoneer as a Design Partner to explore stablecoin-enabled payouts, a move driven by rising demand from freelancers in Latin America and other emerging markets who are looking for faster and more flexible access to their earnings. The two companies will also work together to connect Upwork's global talent pool with Payoneer's ecosystem of small and medium-sized business clients, creating new pathways for cross-border hiring and business growth. Together the initiatives reflect how both companies are adapting their long-standing partnership to match the evolving needs of a global freelance workforce that is growing rapidly in scale and complexity.
