Dogecoin's recent dominance in futures market activity is an attention-grabbing signal, but the same mechanism driving the momentum carries a risk that cuts both ways. Rising open interest means more leveraged positions are active in the market, and leverage amplifies moves in both directions. If DOGE continues higher, those positions can accelerate gains and attract additional inflows. If the price reverses and breaks key support levels, forced liquidations can trigger a rapid and deep selloff that goes well beyond what spot market selling alone would produce.

The level traders are watching most closely is $0.11. Holding above that level while futures inflows continue would support the case for Dogecoin maintaining its outperformance relative to the broader market in the short term. Losing that level under a high-leverage environment would be a different story entirely. For now the data presents a mixed picture: strong momentum signals on one side and elevated liquidation risk on the other. Dogecoin has clearly broken away from the weaker trend seen across much of the crypto market, but the fuel behind that breakout is leverage, and leverage-driven moves tend to be faster and more volatile in both directions than those driven by sustained organic demand.
