The first characters on the list: Sombra, Lifeweaver, and Roadhog — all of whom have had rocky histories with balance and player experience.

According to Game Director Aaron Keller, the goal is clear:
• Make hero kits more flexible
• Reduce overly niche or frustrating mechanics
• Keep gameplay dynamic without adding complexity

This comes during a massive year for Overwatch, including new heroes, a refreshed UI, and record player engagement.

More reworks are expected throughout the year, especially for heroes with outdated or overly rigid playstyles
