Blockchain security firm PeckShield reported that nearly $170 million has already been stolen this year across multiple protocols, with cross-chain bridges remaining a major vulnerability.

In Aethir’s case, attackers reportedly moved funds across chains—including BNB Chain and Tron—before being flagged.

While the losses were relatively contained, the incident reinforces a key reality:
as DeFi infrastructure becomes more complex, attack surfaces continue to expand.
