OpenAI has introduced a new $100/month Pro plan for ChatGPT, targeting developers and heavy users who need more consistent performance without jumping to the premium $200 tier. The new plan offers 5× more access to Codex, OpenAI’s coding tool, compared to the $20 Plus plan—making it a more practical option for intensive workflows like software development and automation.

The move also positions OpenAI more competitively against rivals like Anthropic, which already offers a similar pricing tier. While both Pro plans share the same core features, the key difference lies in usage limits, with the $200 plan still offering significantly higher capacity. With over 3 million weekly Codex users and rapid growth, OpenAI is clearly doubling down on developer demand—though users should note that higher temporary limits on the $100 plan will only last until the end of May.
