According to blockchain investigator ZachXBT, the group—consisting of around 140 members—was earning up to $1 million per month through coordinated efforts, blending legitimate work with attempts to exploit crypto projects.

The operation highlights a growing trend where state-linked actors use employment as a gateway into sensitive systems. Payments were funneled through shared platforms and eventually converted to fiat via services like Payoneer, often routed to overseas accounts. The scale and organization of this scheme show how cybercrime is evolving beyond traditional hacking into hybrid workforce infiltration.
