Borderlands 4 players are gearing up for a massive update on March 26, as Gearbox Software rolls out the “Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned” Story Pack alongside a major patch. The expansion introduces a new campaign, characters like Ellie and Mancubus Bloodtooth, fresh loot, and a new area called the Whispering Glacier, marking the game’s first major content drop of 2026.

Alongside the DLC, Gearbox confirmed the level cap will increase from 50 to 60 for all players, adding more progression and skill customization regardless of expansion ownership. The update also brings a new Vault Hunter, C4SH, whose unique, luck-based abilities introduce new gameplay strategies, as the studio continues pushing forward with its post-launch roadmap despite earlier community concerns.
