The new iShares Staked Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHB) from BlackRock will rely on Coinbase as both the custodian and staking provider for its Ether holdings. According to regulatory filings, staking rewards generated from the fund’s Ethereum assets are expected to be distributed to investors monthly, though payments will occur at least quarterly.

The launch also intensifies competition among crypto ETF issuers. Rival asset manager Grayscale Investments previously introduced staking for its Ethereum funds and has expanded into other staking products, while firms such as 21Shares are also preparing reward distributions for their Ether ETFs. As institutional demand for yield-generating crypto products grows, staking-enabled ETFs are quickly becoming a new battleground in the digital asset market.
