In a strategic move to bridge traditional finance and decentralized markets, Aave Labs launched Aave Horizon in August — a new lending market built on Ethereum tailored specifically for institutions. The platform allows traditional finance firms to borrow stablecoins against tokenized real-world assets, signaling a deeper integration between DeFi and legacy finance.

Major asset managers including VanEck, WisdomTree, and Securitize were among the first participants. CEO Stani Kulechov has also pointed to a $50 trillion opportunity by 2050 through tokenizing “abundance assets” such as solar energy, battery storage, and robotics — positioning DeFi lending as a core infrastructure layer for the future economy.
